Eric had been out of work for several years, and he knew it wouldn’t look good on his resume. Could he even get an interview?

Was it just coincidence that Jeff helped others prepare to find a job while he was out of work himself?

Dr. Arloa Sutter, Founder and Executive Director |
I didn't realize how rich I was until someone told me about the website globalrichlist.com, and I realized that I was in the top 1% of the wealthiest people in the world! I began to take seriously my Biblical responsibility as a steward and caretaker of what God has entrusted to me.
Why does God give some people more resources than others? King David seems to have been wrestling with this question when he asks in 1 Chronicles 29:14, "But who am I, and who are my people that we should be able to give as generously as this? Indeed, everything comes from You, and we have simply given back to You what is Yours."
I think one of the most difficult things those of us with resources face, is the tendency to think we have done it ourselves. We think that we are actually better than others and that somehow, if we were in the place of the poorest of the poor, we would find a way out. We would pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and dig ourselves out of the resource pit.
David understood the warnings of Moses written in Deuteronomy 8:17-18, that when blessed by God, we might be tempted to think, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me."
"Remember the Lord your God," wrote Moses, "for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth."
I am grateful to our many financial partners who inspire me with their humble gifts to God through Breakthrough. I pray today that you will consider Breakthrough as a wise investment for your carefully stewarded gifts to the work of God's kingdom.
